Joseph Noctum is an artist that uses the medium of electronic music to communicate. His style centers around downtempo, house, and breakbeats.
His experience starts with rock music, ranging from punk, to grunge, to industrial, and it was via the latter that he was introduced to electronic music. Through this he came to Austin and began work on different aspects of the local scene. First, as a promoter, he teamed up with other individuals to throw the Mad Hatters Tea Party, produced by Area 512 Entertainment. After the first event though, he branched out on his own and formed Noctum Records. Through the years he worked with Just Say Agency as one of their booking agents, JIVE Magazine as columnist and review writer, and even teamed up with Superstar Recordings out of Germany to help bring Electro House to Texas from 2002 to 2005. He also has had his own radio show on local station, all while playing anywhere and everywhere that booked him.
In 2005, Joe took a hiatus, however he began to make a comeback in 2008 with a mix on Hypersonic. Recently he is focused on playing local festivals, working with promoters who truly throw quality shows locally, and producing music with his friends and other talented producers.

Carpe goes hard in the paint at Flipside 2011: A Bad Idea. We make lots of new friends, dispense a unhealthy amount of potent liquor and whompage, and manage to survive to do it all again another day.
Loads of new mixes if you haven’t dropped by the podcast section recently, including some very worthwhile joints by Tonebreaker and Trey Turner. Hit the jump for direct links or head over to the podcast section and browse around.
Joseph Noctum drops some serious audio damage on the podcast, just in time for the holidays.
We hope everyone is gearing up for a terrifying Halloween! Our treat to you in 2010 is a new hour…
