It’s going down on the podcast right now!

Three new episodes are on the podcast since the last update, starting with 'The Toad's Mistress', a 45 minute midtempo breaks session from Trey that is heavily 8-bit influenced. Then, peep the hour long 'Dub Noctem' set mixed by Eazy Tom, recorded live from the Carpe Noctem dome during Flipside. Next, an hour and forty-five minute set of some of the most chill music Trey has ever used in his newest release, 'View From A Vignette'. Subscribe, tell your friends, let us know what you think! Congratulations Flipside Class of 2010!

Another incredible year of hard work and bringing positive experiences to everyone is behind us, and everyone in the community should feel proud of what was accomplished. This was a very challenging year for our camp leads, but many lessons were learned, which is a big part of what this event and experience is about to us - learning how to do what we do better each year and providing a good time not only for other people but also for ourselves. Much is left to discuss in the wake of this year's event, but we hope you had a good time at our camp and the event as a whole. We would like to thank everyone who came by our camp, hung out, helped and/or supported us, or offered the community something unique and amazing. Please note that the door for new recruits to our camp is currently closed while we figure a few things out - but if you're interested, get and stay in touch, and we'll let you know when the opportunity to join us returns. As always, our coordinators are happy to hear feedback from the community at large about any perceived problems stemming from our camp or campers; these may be directed via email to coordinators {at} nurevolution.net. Until next time friends!

the plan.

Things are coming together and Flipside 2010 looks very promising! Here's some status updates: - We are hosting more guest DJs from the community than ever before, and are continuing to look for additional talent. Make sure to check out Saturday night, which is the Carpe Noctem prom from 8:30 to 10:30, followed by the ISH DJ team descending upon Carpe Noctem to make it their own for several hours. - Our desire to increase our public alcohol offering spawned a rather large homebrew effort which is now complete. We will be serving 8 varieties of homebrew out of 15 Cornelius kegs this year, featuring 3-4 kegs tapped at a time. Make sure to bring your cup! - We have completed a 4' long Ruben's tube that is driven by the sound system's audio signal as our first foray into pyrotechnic art - We've added some laser gear to our setup and have learned how to do some pretty interesting tricks with it - Art is progressing in general, and new banner designs will go to print within two weeks - Some if not all of the Carpe Noctem DJs will have promotional CDs to hand out at the event - stop by and get some beats to take home! - Camp layout is mocked up, as shown above. No longer should there be any question as to whether our dome and our bar are separate camps wink There's still more work on the horizon, but we hope it's been as good a season for the rest of the community as it has been for us so far. Stay tuned to the website or our Facebook page for updates!

now accepting demo submissions from djs and musicians for flipside 2010!

Now that ticket confirmations have rolled out (thanks Treg and team!), Carpe Noctem is soliciting demos from DJs and musicians in the community who would like to play a timeslot on our sound system. We ask that you present a demo that accurately represents the genre you would be showcasing in our dome - please don't submit a breakbeat demo if you plan on playing transcendental goa tejano-core when you show up =] Artists may email a link to their demo to submissions {at} nurevolution {dot} net. We will respond as soon as we get time to review your submission. If approved, we will discuss and decide on a day and time-slot, based on your preference and the system's availability. Tip: We are quite fond of the broken beat at Carpe Noctem. If you select from multiple styles and aren't sure which to present, any of those with a broken beat are most likely to appeal to our sound leads. That being said, we are also aware that there is great music in nearly every genre, and won't explicitly deny 'four on the floor' if this is all you have to offer but you do it well.
